In other words, the Sony Ericsson S500i enables you to get harmonize with your environment.
Out of the box, the Sony Ericsson S500i comes with three themes available to the customers: clarity, night & day, and everchanging. And it is this 'everchanging' theme that makes Sony Ericsson S500i a hit in the market. True to its name, the handset comes with a myriad of animated wallpapers and illuminated color menus that changes periodically. In the day, the LCD shows a floral wallpaper lit by yellow ray with coloured butterflies appearing randomly; while at night, the scene is illuminated by a distant blue light with fireflies flying randomly in the foreground. And that's not all, the wallpapers also change with seasons and time. This sure adds a lot of excitement and makes the handset appear quite personal. According to the manufacturers, the themes are specific to Sony Ericsson S500i.
Like the rest of the Sony Ericsson phones, even the Sony Ericsson S500i comes without Call/End keys. So, for first time users, its something to get used to of. The keypad appears to be small, but then it sure is comfortable enough to type. Since the handset does not fall under the category of Cyber shot, or Walkman series, the multimedia prowess of the Walkman phone is rather spartan. The music player comes with standard features and supports audio format such as MP3, AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+, WAV, WMA and m4a. The Sony Ericsson S500i features a basic camera. It has 2 MP and resolution is 1,600 x 1,200 pixels.
The handset comes with quadband GSM radio with support for Bluetooth stereo. There is an internal memory of 12MB available, and users are also supplemented with Memory Stick Micro card slot. There's also an Access NetFront Web Browser with RSS feeds, onboard apps, voice recorder and Bluetooth remote control facilities. The handset is rated for up to 9 hours of talktime and 15.4 days on standby.
